• Safeguard biodiversity by expanding Tasmania's limited Marine Reserve Network

• Improve monitoring and reporting,

• Empower coastal communities,

• Recognise Aboriginal rights and knowledge,

• Provide a framework for sustainable use, and utilises marine spatial planning to reduce conflict between competing interests.
