No sick fish for Norfolk Bay
No sick fish for Norfolk Bay
We the petitioners call on the Government and the respective Ministers to respect the wishes of the local community and not bring diseased fish and fish farming pens in to Norfolk Bay
.
We ask that you uphold the precautionary principle and not bring diseased creatures in to fish breeding habitat and one of the few homes of the red handfish
.
Norfolk Bay is a significant natural fish and shark hatchery and contains extensive sea grasses which are vulnerable to industrial fish farming
.
We further ask that you request the Federal Minister for the Environment to intervene under the EPBC Act with specific reference to red handfish as a threatened species
.
I would like to BCC myself
