Meet Andrew Perry, he is a new face at Environment Tasmania, filling the Community Engagement Officer position working on forest conservation. Andrew Perry is a seasoned campaigner, whose activism began with his work for various student unions and the National Union of Students.
Most recently Andrew worked for Nick McKim and the Tasmanian Greens, and prior to that, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, which included two Antarctic Campaigns. Before academia and activism, Andrew worked in the music and skateboarding industries, which are two things he's still very passionate about, though no longer any good at.
He has a wife, a young son, and a very old car. Andrew is very excited to be working with Environment Tasmania and its member groups at this pivotal time for Tasmanian forests, and environmental conservation in Australia more broadly.
