Environment Tasmania Inc. is the peak body for environment groups across the state. We regularly communicate with government and industry leaders. As a member, you are entitled to vote at our quarterly General Meetings, to ensure you have a voice in the direction we take, issues we address and how we tackle them. You also get the chance to nominate and elect a Management Committee at the Annual General Meeting to oversee and set policy for Environment Tasmania operations.

Collectively we can carry out activities which could not be accomplished alone!

Being a member of Environment Tasmania connects you to a network of other organisations across Tasmania who, like you, care about the environment and are working hard to make a difference.

Environment Tasmania has a range of resources you can access as a member to help build your group’s capacity including;

• Access to the Environment Hub at 100 Elizabeth St Hobart
• Free or discounted workshops and forums hosted by Environment Tasmania
• Access to information about fundraising and grant opportunities
• Access to information on events and training opportunities
• Notification of government consultation processes
• Opportunities to publicise your events on our web site

You will also gain access to Environment Tasmania’s monthly ebulletins which are designed specifically for members and contain lots of useful news and information from around the state.

Becoming a member of Environment Tasmania helps us unify the voice of all Tasmanians and strengthens our influence as a peak body. We recognise however, that there are a diverse range of views and passions across environment groups in Tasmania and we’re not always going to agree on everything.  At Environment Tasmania we try as hard as possible to reach consensus amongst our members when deciding on strategic direction and policy and campaign positions.
