On Friday July 16th Hobart and the Surrounding Regions will be encouraged to share a ride to Work, Uni, Town or School. This is commonly referred to as Carpooling, or as Cool Pool Tas refers to it, taking or making a “Cool Pool”.
Cool Pool Tas is Tasmania’s only dedicated online carpooling organization, www.coolpooltas.com.au, and depends on you as a Community member to come out and support it. Your support means that Cool Pool Tas can continue to develop this resource, invest in education, advocacy and lobbying for carpooling infrastructure and incentives for all Tasmanians and Visitors to our State.
Driving towards Cool Pool Day, you can donate a beanie (new, hand made or second hand) to the great beanie drive. The donated beanies will then go on sale for bargain prices at a 5 to 7 event (known as Cool Pool’s Cinq a Sept) on Cool Pool Day. At the Cinq a Sept event awards will also be presented to great participants, and supporters of Cool Pool Tas. So, along with picking yourself up a great beanie, you can join Cool Pool Tas to celebrate their new carbon avoidance road star campaign with food and beverages and some light entertainment.
